We discontinued operation of our two web query programs that allowed users to retrieve vessel documentation data by vessel name or by documentation number because the existing web site vessel documentation data were out of date. Newer documentation data that were provided to us were found to be incomplete, missing some data elements, and possibly contained some incorrect data.

We will put these queries back online after we get updated vessel documentation data from the United States Coast Guard. Although we hope the USCG will provide us with data we can use in December, it's probably more realistic to guess that we won't get it until January. I believe we can edit check and put the vessel documentation data online within about one week of receiving it.

You can retrieve vessel documentation data (with the exception of ownership information) using the "Vessel Search" option at the USCG web site (http://www.uscg.mil/services.html). The USCG web site indicates that you can get ownership information from the following sources:
