SAMPLING METADATA

Sampling and Processing Summary
Night surface tows were made from the HM-Smith for a period of 20 minutes with a 1-meter plankton net. Similar tows were made at dusk from the Scofield.

The HM-Smith nets were constructed of Nitex ( mesh = 656 um ) and employed an Atlas flow meter. The Scofield net was a standard BGC non-closing net (see SCOT and STOR, mesh = 505 um).
