SAMPLING METADATA

Sampling and Processing Summary
Two types of net were used, described as: "A Nansen net with mesh No. 23 and a mouth diameter 50 cm", and "a K-100 net with No. 15 mesh and a mouth diameter 100 cm". A bolting silk translation of these net numbers would suggest mesh sizes of 65 micrometers and 94 micrometers. The original documentation says phytoplankton data were periodically taken with "a small Dzhedi (Juday?) net with No. 25 mesh", (64 micrometer).
