NOAA Enrichment in Marine Sciences and Oceanography Program

The NOAA Enrichment in Marine Sciences and Oceanography Program (NEMO) is a program designed to promote ocean literacy in Washington, D.C.'s public schools.

The NEMO program offers a secondary level marine science curriculum with 23 lessons available for free download. Each lesson is aligned with national science teaching standards as well as the Ocean Literacy Principles. The curriculum does not require any prior marine science experience. It can be used to prepare a team of high school students to compete in a regional Ocean Sciences Bowl competition.

Whether you are teaching a course, leading a marine science club, or coaching a National Ocean Sciences Bowl team, we hope you find NEMO resources helpful.

Contact Information: For questions about NEMO or to request a hard copy of the curriculum, please contact Laura.Oremland@noaa.gov.
