Pacific Islands Fisheries Science Center

The Pacific Islands Fisheries Science Center (PIFSC) is a research branch of NOAA Fisheries and administers scientific research and monitoring programs that support the conservation and management of the region's living marine resources and essential habitats. Climate-related changes in the Pacific Islands region include rising sea levels, changing ocean temperatures, changing ocean chemistry, and related changes in ocean productivity and diversity. The PIFSC’s Ocean and Climate Change Team is at the forefront of monitoring coral reef ecosystem health to mitigate the effects of new threats.
