SAMPLING METADATA

Sampling and Processing Summary
SAMPLING METHOD:   A Hensen-type "Kitahara" net (No. 13, ~110 um) with a mouth opening of 22.5 cm (diameter) was towed from a depth up to 150 meters to the surface. Samples were left to settle for 'several hours' before measurement. Samples were preserved in 10% formalin prior to phytoplankton analysis. A flowmeter was used to measure the volume of water strained through the net [but this value was not provided in any of the data tables].
