WGZE Biometrics Atlas
A biometric properties data atlas for zoopankton found in the ICES North Atlantic, Baltic Sea, and Mediterranean Sea regions.

After clicking on a taxa group on the main page, the Atlas will take you to a table-based summary page similar to the graphics in the left column.   The top of this page features a map of the observations for the entire taxa group (e.g., Calanoid copepods).   The pink and red dots show observations where member of this group have been found, and the yellow stars show locations of WGZE time series where members of this group have been reported.

Below the title of the map are dark-red "regional selection" links (e.g., ICES-NATL, Baltis Sea, Mediterranean Sea).   Clicking one of these links will update both the map and the table to represent ONLY that region.   For example, click on "Baltic" to only show species found in the Baltic Sea, in the table and maps.

Summary Table:

The summary table contains a taxonomically-organized table of families, genera, and species of the selected taxa group (e.g., Calanoida) found in the selected region (e.g., ICES North Atlantic).   The species included in this table were reported by either WGZE time series, COPEPOD, or OBIS.  Holding the mouse cursor of the MAP link (fond in the Species Map column of the table) will show a map of currently available observation locations.   The coverage of this map depends on both available data and the program that reported the observation.   (Some species will have excellent coverage, while others may only have a few dots.)

Additional columns in the table indicate if that species has "length" or "weight" or "W:L Equation" data, as well as indicators or what other oceans that species has been observed in (according to COPEPOD and OBIS).

This Atlas summary table is a work in progress, and will likely be blended together with similar tables reporting molecular barcoding and other trait types.  For now, it is intended to give a quick summary of what species have (and do not have) various types of trait data available.
