(IFISH) Conferences
Participation of NOAA Fisheries
Observer Program staff in IFISH Conferences has
provided an opportunity to learn more about recent
developments in commercial fishing safety training
and gear, as well as research in injury prevention.
These conferences bring together individuals who
share research and program expertise in the effort
to enhance safety at sea for commercial fishing
vessels' captains and crew. The advancements in
research and training are critical also for observer
programs that deploy observers on fishing vessels.
