2007
U.S. Landings by Distance from Shore
How to run the query: You can query our data base of preliminary
2007
U.S. commercial fishery landings and summarize these data by state, species,
and distance from shore. Choose (click on) a state and then click on the SUBMIT
button to run the query. To view a list of the states, click on the "down-arrow"
icon. Landings can only be summarized for a single state per query.
What is reported: Landings are reported in thousands of pounds
and dollars and are listed by catches made in state waters (usually 0-3 nautical
miles from shore), in the EEZ (Exclusive Economic Zone; federal waters 3-200
miles from shore), and on the high seas (> 200 miles from shore). All landings
are preliminary and subject to change. The species listed by these queries are
less aggregated than species listed in the NMFS annual statistical publication,
"Fisheries of the United.States."
How to print: If you want to print the summarized landings
data we suggest that you set your printing orientation to "landscape";
depending on your default type size, it may also be necessary to specify "no
margins" when printing to insure that all data are printed. To set these
printer options when using a Netscape browser: a) click on the print icon, b)
then click on "setup", c) choose the landscape button listed under
"Orientation", and d) click on the "Options" button and
activate the "None" button under the margins group. Save and exit
these options by hitting the "OK" button until you've returned to
the base print menu. Another method of printing the text and format is to reduce
the default font size used by your browser. When using a Netscape browser, go
to "Edit", "Preferences", "Fonts", and choose
a smaller font from the "Size" select lists. Type sizes of 10
or smaller are usually adequate to allow you to print the entire text.
