Collections of zooplankton were made with the Indian Ocean standard net (mouth diamter 113 cm, length about 5 meters, net cloth GG54 (~316 um)) with a flowmeter. The plankton net was vertically hauled up from a depth of 200 m to the surface at a speed of 1 m/s. Samples were fixed with 5 - 10% formalin solution as soon as possible.

Displacement volume and wet weight were measured by MOTODA's method (1959).
