The Executive Steering Committee is made up of the chairs of the interstate fisheries commissions, prominent members of the fishery management councils, and NOAA Fisheries. This state-federal group is the initiative’s decision-making body.

MRIP Implementation Plan - The Implementation Plan provides an update on our progress to date in developing the many components of MRIP, as well as our blueprint for putting it into action. The Implementation Plan is a joint product of the Operations, Communication and Education, and Angler Registry Teams prepared with guidance from the Executive Steering Committee. A dynamic document, the Implementation Plan will continue to evolve in response to the latest science and the emerging needs of fisheries managers, regulators, policy makers and stakeholders.
Progress Report 2007 - Surveys on saltwater anglers' catch and effort give managers vital information on recreational fishing's impact on fisheries and values to our society. After nearly a year of getting the right pieces and organizational structures in place, the Marine Recreational Information Program (MRIP) initiative got into full swing in 2007. The best minds from state and federal government and the fishing community have been assembled to develop a new program that will serve as the most trusted source of saltwater recreational fishing data.
