Surveys

Conducting ship-based or aerial surveys is critical to achieving our population assessment goals.  Assessment here refers to an estimate of abundance and human-caused mortality relative to some management objective. Surveys are conducted and managed by the six Science Centers and often involve two or more centers, as well as internal and external collaborators.
