A message from the Conference Chair:

The 6th International Fisheries Observer and Monitoring Conference Proceedings are now available for download from the IFOMC website! I would like to extend a gracious and sincere thank you to the steering committee for their efforts in supporting and guiding key aspects of the conference, and to all those that attended. Please accept my gratitude for your participation and support of the 6th IFOMC. You can expect a compact disc, featuring the conference proceedings, to arrive in the mail between June/July 2010. The CD will include the proceedings document, poster session, and a great collection of photographs from the conference.

Looking forward, it is with great pleasure that I inform you that the 7th International Fisheries Observer and Monitoring Conference will be held in either Viña del Mar or Valparaiso, Chile. The Intituto de Fomento Pesquero  has graciously offered to be the host . I am excited to announce that Mr. Oscar Guzman from Intituto de Fomento Pesquero will serve as the next IFOMC chairman. The steering committee and I will work closely with the IFOP as they transition into their role as the new conference host.

I can't expresses enough my appreciation for your participation in the 2009 IFOMC, and encourage your attendance to the next conference. Check back as the website will soon be revised and updated with information about the next conference. I wish you warm and best regards, and hope to see you all again at the 7th IFOMC in the beautiful country of Chile.
