This map shows one of the potential EcoGIS analysis tools. Comparisons of fishing effort between years shows gains in scallop effort from 1998 to 1999 in red. In this example, gains in fishing effort are seen due to the opening of the southern portion of Area II, and gains are also seen in the mid-Atlantic due to increases in scallop abundance.
