FOR IN-PERSON PARTICIPATION:
Getting there and getting around:
Fort Lauderdale - Hollywood International Airport (FLL) is 20 minutes from the workshop locations (and even closer to the hotels). All of the hotels listed on our website have free shuttle service to and from the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Contact the hotel to make shuttle reservations. Miami International Airport (MIA) is one hour away. If you are flying into the Miami International Airport, you can reserve the Super Shuttle in advance (HTTP://WWW.SUPERSHUTTLE.COM/), which may be a less expensive option than a taxi.

A car rental, sharing a car among a few workshop participants, or hiring taxis is recommended since there is no public transportation to the workshop venue or local restaurant, as they are not within walking distance from the hotels listed below or the venue. There is plenty of car parking at the workshop venue. The workshop venue is ~3 miles from some smaller hotels in Dania Beach (e.g. Oceanview Inn) that have free bikes. Bicycle rentals are also available further down the beach for ~$30/day.

Workshop location:
Nova Southeastern University
Guy Harvey Oceanographic Center Auditorium
8000 North Ocean Dr.
Dania Beach, FL 33004

The venue is located inside the Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park. When you pass through the guard gate to enter the park, tell them you are going to the oceanographic center to avoid paying the park entrance fee.

Hotel options: You are welcome to make reservations wherever you like. Here are a few recommendations:

  1. Sleep Inn (5.2 miles from venue)
    (954) 874-1800
We have a block of rooms at the Sleep Inn for $99 per night. To make a reservation, call and let them know you are part of "Wendy's Nova block." The hotel has a free shuttle to/from the Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport between 5 am and midnight (call the hotel to make a shuttle reservation).
  2. Holiday Inn Express (4.8 miles from venue)
    (954) 925-5500
The hotel has a free shuttle to/from the Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (call the hotel to make a shuttle reservation).
  3. Fairfield Inn and Suites (7 miles from venue)
    (954) 981-2700
The hotel has a free shuttle to/from the Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (call the hotel to make a shuttle reservation).
  4. Meals:
All of the hotels listed have a complimentary hot continental breakfast included. Lunch and snacks will be provided for free during the workshop. Dinner will be on your own, and you will likely need a taxi or rental car as restaurants are generally not within walking distance from the hotels or venue. See hotel websites for nearby dining options.
